Upward Bound Central Program

at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

Upward Bound Programs Overview

Upward Bound Central Program (UBCP) and Upward Bound North Program (UBNP) are federally funded TRIO programs through the United States Department of Education that provide fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The programs provide opportunities for participants to succeed in their high school performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. UBCP serves 60 high school students (30 from Moody HS and 30 from West Oso HS) and UBNP serves 60 high school students (30 from Miller HS and 30 from Coles HS) which are from low-income families and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The overarching goal of UBCP and UBNP is to increase the rate at which participants complete high school and enroll in and graduate from college.

The UBCP and UBNP is committed to serving 120 eligible students seeking academic support, and we encourage applications from students of diverse backgrounds. No distinction is made upon the basis of race, color, disability, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, or life circumstance.

  • Academic performance on Standardized Tests will be at proficient level
